What are the factors that one considers when designing the kitchen? One main factor is the food safety. There is a known study conducted that shows seventy six million food-borne illnesses recorded each year in the United States and most of them could have been prevented if sanitary methods were followed strictly.

“Repair for your kitchen”

In your own home, food is prepared more hygienic than in the restaurants. However, there are things that you own and use in your preparation that you mostly overlooked but which contains dangerous bacteria. These bacteria can develop food-borne diseases that can harm you and your family. In order to prevent these, one should be aware of where these bacteria usually hides and the best materials use to avoid bacteria development.

When considering kitchen design layout, you should consider using stainless steel materials for your working table and other part of the kitchen where food are usually placed in. Using this material, bacteria cannot grow as much as compared to wood. If you have been to a restaurant’s kitchen or have watched food programs on the television, you may have noticed that they mostly use stainless materials on their kitchen. Not only does it looks good and elegant, but it also promotes cleanliness and rust-free environment. Bacteria do not develop rapidly on this material, even if they get wet all the time. It fights against corrosion, which is another source of bacteria that can cause serious illness when consumed.

Bacteria grow faster on moist areas, like the dish towels, kitchen sponge, faucet handles, chopping board and sink drain. You should always watch out for these things and keep them clean and dry as much as possible. Clean and sanitize them using sanitizing solution frequently and use a paper towel to dry them up if air drying is not possible.

Have a couple of chopping boards on hand, one for raw meat, poultry products and seafood. These foods will be cleansed and cook. The process will somehow eliminate bacteria and cannot reach your body. Use a plastic chopping board because it can easily be washed and dry. The other board will be for the ready-to-eat and veggies as this type of food are not well cooked to kill the bacteria that may have come from a contaminated board.

When doing your kitchen design layout, one of the things that you should consider is sanitation. It plays an important role in your kitchen. Remember that serious illnesses are caused by poor sanitation. Clean your kitchen all the time after preparing foods. Sanitize it as a habit to kill developing bacteria. In this way, you will have a bacteria-free and scrumptious meals for you and your loved ones! Have a happy eating.
